About Jan Wurm

Jan Wurm brings the perspective of a practicing artist to her curatorial and educational projects. With 20 years of teaching experience, her deepest passion lies with sharing and opening art to others.

Wurm has developed original courses in art practice, organized six annual symposia for UC Berkeley Art Alumni, developed and facilitated an artist lecture series for five years for the Berkeley Art Center, and initiated mentoring programs.

As Director of Exhibitions and Curator of Art at the Richmond Art Center, Wurm realized major exhibitions with extensive public programming. She has lectured for other museums on subjects such as Richard Diebenkorn and Joan Brown. Wurm has served as juror for National Park Service artist in residency and College Art Association Fellowship Award as well as contributing to other exhibition and award selections conferred by art institutions.
